In a crowded market of resources on discipleship BRF’s new series Holy Habits offers something different. It is about the development of a habitus or rule for life shared with others. The habits it seeks to foster are worship, eating together, breaking bread, prayer, making more disciples, sharing resources, gladness and generosity and serving and fellowship. It is focused on Acts 2:42-47 where the early life of the community of Jesus’ disciples is described and worked through within the course. Each of the habits are understood and explained in the context of this passage. This reviewer has only read the Introductory Guide and the Biblical Teaching manuals, but they bode well for future manuals. The development of holy habits is at the heart of spiritual discipline. This resource provides an accessible way into the spiritual disciplines in the context of Christian community. They are good resources for clergy, Readers and lay members to learn together.
